We’ve reached the 100th day in our renovations. There will be champagne and saw dust for everyone today! Minimal blood has been shed, I’ve broken down in tears fewer than the budgeted fifty times, and I haven’t found any dead bodies in the walls. I consider this a victory. I was thinking of getting a tattoo to commemorate the event and I may have found the perfect one considering this stage of my life and propensity for typos. What do you think?
I came across this article on Houzz this morning that humorously and quite accurately describes the ups and downs of any renovation project with your significant other. If you have not yet discovered this site, I highly recommend wasting at least a couple of hours at work browsing and dreaming of your future projects. This internet time suck is well worth it.
Last night I spent hours removing all of the leftover carpet fibers that had been so carefully painted into the molding. I was trying to figure out if I could leave it and claim it was a design technique for added color, but the texture was all wrong. Today, I will hopefully be able to start painting the molding and windowsills, then scrape the floor so I can arrange the underlayment for the hardwood. There’s a lot to do, but I have accepted that it’s a procss.
